Hi, I'm Lewis 👋

I created Dog Friendly Venues just before getting my first dog, Brynley, a flat-coated retriever. You've probably spotted him in the logo.

Like many new dog owners, I found it surprisingly difficult to know where dogs are actually welcome and what places really offer. Not just whether dogs are allowed, but things like water bowls, indoor access, or outdoor space.

Most directories don't go into that level of detail, so I wanted to build something that does.

This started as a small personal project, but the aim is simple: to create a straightforward, honest directory that's genuinely useful for dog owners.

What makes this different

  • 🐾Focus on dog-specific amenities, not just "dog-friendly" labels
  • 🐾Simple, clear listings with the essentials
  • 🐾Quick filters to help you find the right place
  • 🐾Built to improve over time with real user input

Built for dog owners, by dog owners

This is a growing, community-driven project. Over time, the goal is for people to help keep it accurate — adding places, improving details, and making it better for everyone.

We're just getting started

We're starting in Cambridgeshire and expanding steadily. The aim will always stay the same: make it easy to find somewhere great to go with your dog.
